Why is MyTVShows so slow lately?
If you are a new user, you may be wondering, “why is this site so slow?”.
If you are a regular user you may be asking, “why did MyTVShows become so slow?”.
The answer is simple. In the last weeks we had a major increase of traffic (over 800% more users and 1800% more pageviews than we had before). In less than a week we had and increase of the number of episodes we track from 3 million episodes to 7 million episodes. It took us a year to reach 3 million episodes, and just a week to reach 7 million episodes. At it’s still growing every day 
Unfortunately, we weren’t prepared for such an increase of traffic and it all started running (very) slowly. We made a few changes to try and make the site a little faster, and although it helped us keep the site online until now, it clearly isn’t enough.
So we made the decision to rewrite all the code from scratch to increase the overall performance. This process may take some time (we hope it will be complete in a couple of months) and the site may go down a few times (i guess you’ve all seen the “grey screen” a few times) so, please bear with us until we fix everything
We have high expectations for the new version of the website and, when the time is right, we will unveil some important announcements about the future of MyTVShows

Don’t worry, we know all this work is for us, to fix one of the best websites that I’ve registered lately. This site helps me a lot when I’m watching more than 5 series at a time. I really thanks you for your work (and sorry for my English, I’m spanish).
I would like to make a suggestion to improve the site. ¿Could i do that here?
Here it goes:
It would be great if you could show the top rated episodes of each Tv show on the main page of the shows, so if i want to start watching a new TV show i can watch the most rated episode first to take a look of it.

Congrats on the growth! This is a great site and as a developer I can understand the technical burden of that many users. I look forward to the new features and hearing about how you increase the speed.

Love the site and look forward to the recoding effort for performance. One thing I use the site for, in addition to keeping track of what I watch is to use it for keeping track of what I have captured using my HDTV capture boards. Is there any way you could possibly program the new site to allow a check box for each show indicating where the user recorded the show or not (for them to keep up with their capturing efforts)? I realize using the site right now is actually screwing up your statistics on viewership since marking as seen to the collector represents as ‘captured’ and the quality rating is actually used for indicating the quality of the capture, not the actual likeness to the episode ‘watched’ (err captured). Just thought I would mention in addition to keeping track to what shows are watched, your website can be used to keep track of what the user has captured for their personal TV collection as well as the quality rating of what they captured (thunderstorm warning on a captured TV show get 1 start for example). Thanks

Hi,
I noticed some confusions with the episodes lists.
Per example, the death note’s series has 2 seasons.
Season 1 with 37 episodes and season 2 with 18 episodes.
As far as I know this series only have 37 episodes and the 18 episodes of the seasons 2 have the same name as the last 18 episodes of the season 1.
This confusions start when the gathered data change from epguides to tvdb.com
